Summit Nutrition Foundations

Nutrition is a complicated subject. The intention behind this course is to make it simple for you. 

Inside, you will learn some foundational nutrition strategies which, if applied consistently, will make an incredibly difference to both your training and your hiking. 

Lesson #1:
Summit Nutrition Foundations

What you will learn:
  • Why good nutrition is about much more than weight loss
  • Why a ‘one size fits all’ approach to nutrition is not something I advocate
  • What you will learn in the rest of the course

Lesson #2:
​Building Blocks Of Nutrition

What you will learn:
  • A quick rundown on the 3 macronutrients (and why they are all important for health and performance)
  • Why fruit and veggies are so critical
  • A simple way to ensure you are covering all your ‘micronutrient’ bases

Lesson #3:
Nutrition And Exercise

What you will learn:
  • What you should be eating and drinking before training and hiking (so you can ensure you are ready to perform at your best)
  • What types of foods you should consider during exercise (so you can delay fatigue and keep feeling good!)
  • Areas to focus on after a workout or hike (to best support your bodies recovery and adaptation)

The 4 Pillars Of Summit NutritioN

You will learn:
  • The 4 nutrition habits which every hiker should follow
  • Some simple tips on how to put these into action
