When it comes to training for hiking and trekking, the majority of programs out there fall into one of two categories...

They are either:
  • Too basic (and simply involve endless walking and maybe a few squats, lunges and sit ups) 
OR
  • They are outrageously complex (and involve an unnecessary amount of numbers, calculations and gadgets)
 
And for the everyday hiker or trekker, neither of those options are great... If you try the first option, you will be leaving massive blind spots in your preparation (such as in injury prevention, preparing for elevation etc) and if you go the second option, you end up adding so much extra stress and complexity to your life...
 
That is why we created the Couch To Summit Training Program. To sit in the middle of these two extremes. It will give you everything you need to get fit, strong and injury proof for the trail.... while keeping things as uncomplicated and straightforward as possible!

Inside the program you will find a free 12 week training program, which includes a mixture of hiking, strength training and trail specific cardio. And if you put this plan into action, you can be confident you are doing the RIGHT things to help you towards a safe, enjoyable and successful adventure!

Who is this training program for?
This training program was created for hikers, trekkers and backpackers who want a simple training program to get them ready for their adventure. By no means is this the 'best' program possible. Or the most comprehensive. Or even the most exciting... but it is the simplest plan possible, which will cover all your bases for the trail!

​Who is this guide NOT for?
This training program is NOT designed for someone who is has a history of injury or pain, who is overweight or who is incredibly time-poor. None of these considerations are within the scope of this program. And if you are in any of these categories, it is highly recommended you work with a professional to get some tailed advice.
