Q: Who isn't this program for? A: If you are looking for a general workout to 'lose weight and tone up' this isn't for you. While those things often happen as a natural consequence of the training, it is not the focus. This program is entirely dedicated to hikers, trekkers or backpackers who either have a significant adventure in their sights, want to be able to enjoy themselves a bit more on the trail or simply want to be prepared to step into any adventure that life throws at them! |
Q: What does the training involve? A: Usually, the training will involve a mixture of strength workouts, weekend hiking and additional conditioning sessions. This is not a pre-made program. Each program is tailored around your individual goals, needs and preferences. On top of this, the programming is kept flexible throughout the 28-days. If any of the workouts of exercises need adjusting throughout, all you have to do is communicate and we will switch things around. |
Q:When does the 28 days start. A: The next 28-day challenge will start on Monday, 20th April. |
Q: What if I have never really trained before? Or am already pretty fit? A: The exercises and programming are all tailored to you and your experience. If you are a beginner in training, things will be kept simple. And we will take you step by step through the process. Alternatively, if you are an experienced training, we will ensure the programming is on your level. |
Q: Do I need a gym? A: If you have a gym great! If not, then you can do your workouts at home or indoors. There will be a question in your application form to discuss this. |
Q: How many days a week will I have to train? A: That is completely up to you. I would usually recommend at at least 3 days of training to see any results over the 28 days. 4 or 5 will be better. |
Q: How does the ‘free upon completion’ work? If, over the 28 days, you complete each of the training sessions you have committed to and complete the weekly task set, I will give you back 100% of your money (via PayPal). |
Q: What if I don't do the sessions? A: If you don't do the sessions you committed to, then the refund will be void. To keep focused and motivated here, the 'money back' incentive can be very powerful. To maintain the power of this incentive, there will be no exceptions to this. |
Q: What if I get sick? Or have to go away for work? A: If you get sick, or have to go away for work, or some other special circumstance you need to communicate with me right away. This will allow me to alter the programming to fit your life events, or even drop the programming and give you other 'tasks' to complete (i.e. watch an educational video and report back). In these situations, there will still be the 'free upon completion' policy, but the tasks for completion will likely change. |
Q: What else is included in the challenge? A: Through the program, you will be sent a range of educational emails, videos and simple tasks to complete. These are a great way to improve your training and hiking. You also receive weekly support and coaching (via phone or email) to keep you accountable to the process and troubleshoot any problems along the way. |
Q: Do I need any equipment? A: All the training will be adapted to the equipment and space you have available. If you already have some gear, great! We will definitely incorporate it. If not? Not a problem, we can work with your bodyweight. As long as you can find a small, clear space to exercise in, you will be all good. |
