Breathing training is a hot topic in the hiking community. Purely for the fact that so many hikers struggle with breathing on the trail!

Getting huffed and puffed and out of breath on steep ascents is one of the most common complaints for hikers.

Not to mention the additional worries of hikers about breathing at high altitudes, when carrying a heavier pack or trying to keep up with quicker hikers...

And while so many hikers want to improve their breathing, most people don't know where to start.

Some go down the High-Intensity Interval Training route and constantly push themselves to a red-faced, huffed and puffed sweaty mess.

But this will only get you so far when it comes to your actual hiking. 

Others will go down the 'breathing training rabbit hole' and explore
things like breath holds, training masks and a multitude of other approaches.

And while these can have some benefits, for many hikers, breathing training doesn't have to be this complicated.

This mini-course is designed to fill this gap in information.

To provide some 'no frills' breathing exercises, which will be incredibly relevant for hiking and very simple to do (while at the same time improving your fitness and endurance for the trail!).

These drills have been tested on hundreds of our hikers over the years to great effect.

In this course, you will learn:

  • Two foundational breathing skills that will rapidly improve the effectiveness of your breathing (which you can practice anywhere)

  • Three simple breathing drills that can make a dramatic difference to your comfort and confidence when climbing steep ascents (while also improving your fitness and endurance for the trail)

  • A simple 12-week training progression to get you charging up those hills!


To be clear:

This is NOT an advanced breathing course. You won't be doing breath holds or using masks or devices.
